Japanese teas are vivid, vegetal and green. Unlike other regions that produce multiple types of tea, almost all the tea grown in Japan is produced as green tea, and there are only a handful of styles made. Only a very small amount of tea is hand plucked, most is machine harvested. Shade grown teas, like our award-winning Gyokuro, are unique, even among Japanese teas thanks to the complexity and craftsmanship involved.
